ahhh... OBS was fun. but the stupid thing was, i fell sick and was sent home on the 4th day. damn. anyway..
DAY 1
reached school and waited for the bus to bring us to punggol jetty. guess wad? the bus was late. but nvm lah. when we reached punggol jetty, we took bumboat to OBS camp 2. my watch's name is ARMSTRONG. yah. u noe neil armstrong right? the guy who 1st stepped on the moon. yeah. and my watch got 16 ppl, 9 girls and 7 boys. me, anissa, monica, krystalle, athirah, aqilah, dorothea, wen jia, brenda, zong han, andre, gang hao, leonard, wen zhen, benjamin and saiful. yeah. then the rest of the andersonians were in another watch. but i dunno how to spell their watch's name. yah. but cool name. :D then we played murderer while waiting for our lovely instructor, PEI LEE. :D but not many ppl knew how to play murderer. and benjamin was so blur. he din noe he's the detective. lol. then got some admin work. then we went to out stall. and folded the tents, ponchos and check for damages. yah. then lunch time. our food i/cs are gang hao and wen zhen. distributed the happy food. then ate bread for lunch. btw the toilets at camp 2 is very very clean. better than the sec 3 camp toilets. yah. then it started to rain. so we did knots and lashing. then went kayaking. kayaking was fun. but it was kinda weird. cos when me and saiful swept to our left, the kayak would go towards left. lol. then we went to pitch tents. then bathed. when we came back. dinner was ready. thank you gang hao and wen zhen for preparing dinner. :D then reflection. packed our haversacks cos we would be leaving camp 2 the next day. and not coming back until thursday. suddenly one of the instructors rang this bell. that was actually the fire alarm or something. din noe until pei lee shouted to us, "FIRE DRILL!" lol. then lights out. btw it started to drizzle in the middle of the night.
DAY 2
finished packing our haversacks. and i thought my haversack weighed thousands tonnes. although mine was the lightest. lol. i'm weak. haha. then washed up. unpitched tents. then morning exercise. played the colour game. then breakfast. got bread with peanut butter and jam. after that was morning circle. that's when we shared with our watch about what happened the day b4 and what we had learnt. then we started trekking. then reahced this reservoir. and we played alpine rescue. we had to transport this stretcher to the other end, without letting it touch the ground. it wasn't easy. we din finish but we did a good job. and there was the story about ah siang (a bear) and a girl (piglet). they were lovers and needed our help to make them meet and get marry. something like that. then the alpine rescue was like top rescue them cos they were injured. my watch's mascot was ah girl. and the other watch's mascot was ah siang. yah. we ate buns for lunch. then anissa was sent to the medical centre. she got fever. we were worried lor. but pei lee said she would be fine. so we went trekking to find checkpoints so that the 2 lovers can meet. haha. was damn tired lor. then when we were about to reach our last checkpoint, i was really tired. was aching all over. but with encouragement from my watch, i continued and reached the last checkpoint! yay! then pitched our tents. and cooked. btw we had to do our business in the bushed that night. lol. cos we were like somewhere in the forest. yah. then the guys cooked instant noodles and asked the girls to eat 1st. very nice hor? haha. then we went to meet pei lee at the water tank. and we played the ding dong game. very fun! then lights out liao. btw the ground was very hard lor.
DAY 3
i woke up with a sore throat. ahh.. and i kept sneezing. we ate bread with tuna fish for breakfast. then unpitched the tents. went to meet pei lee. and we trekked to camp 1. camp 1 was like chalet lor. we did not need to cook our meals cos there was a canteen. and the toilets were very clean too. and anissa was at camp 1 too. cos the medical centre was at camp 1. we met her. she seemed to be fine. yay! we did height elements there. learnt belaying. then we went to the tunnel thing. met the MOE ppl there. we had to find "chicken little" and "anything" in the dark tunnel. i was quite scared lor. then continued with the belay practice. that was when leonard sprained his ankle. so he was sent to the medical centre. then went for lunch. anissa and leonard joined us for lunch. and the lunch was very nice. think it was because we were very hungry. then went to pitch tents. after that went for some height activities. forgot the name of that very tall structure. anyway we had to climb that in pairs. i paired up with krystalle. and i was not feeling well. so i stayed in the shade. everyone in my watch was very caring. kept asking whether i'm fine and all that. and kept asking me not to belay. haha. so touched lah. then it was me and krystalle's turn to climb. we din finished cos i did not have strength to reach the log. so sorry, krystalle. :( but of course she din blame me. then dorothea got dehydrated and went to the medical centre to rest. :D then went to bathe. felt better after the shower. then we met pei lee at "orchard road". after that went for dinner at the canteen. and all 16 of us ppl were eating together! yay! after dinner, went to the multi-purpose hall and waited for pei lee. played the ding dong game while playing. and zong han was the person passing "ding" and "dong". he really sounded like pei lee when he said "this is a dong/ding" in a frustrated tone. haha. then the other watch came, followed by jonathan, the other watch's instructor. then went to lower the flags. and went for briefing on the sea expedition the next day. that was when i felt really sick. then anissa realised i got a fever and brought me to the medical centre. she accompanied me to the campsite to get my haversacks. thank you, anissa! the nurse told me to go for a cold shower. then he gave me medicine. and i went to sleep in the sick bay. btw my body temp. was 38.8 degrees celsius then. then in the middle of the night, the nurse came to take my temp. again. and he said the temp went down already. yay!
DAY 4
woke up. the nurse took my temp again. no more fever. 37.2. :D washed up and had breakfast at the canteen. met ARMSTRONG wished them good luck. they were all covered up. in preparation for the sea expedition. sad lah. couldn't join them. then the nurse brought me and another patient to seng kang polyclinic. got MC. had to go home. :( went back to the medical centre to wait for instructions. after a while, instructor nadiah brought me to camp 2 to packed my stuff. then she brought me back to camp 1 for lunch. after that another instructor sent me and that patient to punggol jetty. then took cab home. asked taxi uncle to stop in front of the sch. met meishan and she brought me to meet him. :D could see that u were worried lor. but i would be fine de. :D went home. and realise my parents knew that i was coming home. my dad wanted to go punggol jetty to fetch me at 1st de. but decided not to cos he thought they might arrange transport for me. and of course they did. thank you! then my dad went back to work. and my mum went to the market to buy peppermint leaves to boil peppermint tea with honey for me. thank you! :D went to rest. and woke up at 7pm. ate dinner. then went to sleep.
yah. so that's how my OBS ended. sad right? left only 2 days leh. and i really miss armstrong. haha. and they helped me buy a round-necked OBS tee. thank you! i love PEI LEE and ARMSTRONG! :D
